House Eastsmith
House Eastsmith is a vassal house of the great House Steins in the western portion of the Gardlands. The house is known for its skilled blacksmiths, but specifically their manufacturing of both blackpowder and blackpowder weapons. Their seat sits in the Dawn's Peak mountain range within the part of the mountain that is an inactive volcano where they mine their sulfur which turns into blackpowder, this keep is known as Nonkaldiir. The head of the house is a stern and grim dwarf known as Lofruk Eastsmith and he is known as uncharacteristically warlike for someone from the Gardlands, at least compared to the other houses of the region. Their house sigil is a black backround with a white cannon.
Structure
House Eastsmith is organized in a traditional manner with a lord in charge of the house's affairs and their court to assist them. Westsmith favors males almost entirely and the women are only put in power if there are no male relatives alive. Leaders of the house are expected to be skilled smiths and warriors alike.
Culture
House Eastsmith holds an attitude of staunch loyalty and fierce strength of will. The people of Westsmith work long hours in the forge making weapons of war and they do so in service of their nation as they alone hold the means to do so at a large scale and as such much is expected of them. The people of Eastsmith love their drink as nothing goes better than ale and a hard days work, but are not known for their conversational skills.
Assets
House Eastsmith is one of the only houses that manufactures blackpowder weaponry on a large scale and as such is very wealthy, selling their arms to other houses, but never to a foreign power. They use their wealth to fund their expansive hold and mine ever deeper to reach more deposits and so their industry continues to grow ever larger. They have a large and elite standing army numbering at 3000 men and a small corps of rifleman known as the Kaldiir Dead-Eyes who are renowned for their markmanship and deadliness on the battlefield.
History
The secrets to blackpowder weaponry is a recently discovered technology and few hold the knowledge to make them, but Westsmith excels. Westsmith was a large hold even before The Aleanza was formed and was independant from The Kingdom of Erebor that came before House Steins. Westsmith is rumoured to have come from a land far east which is why in spite of their hold lying in the western regions of the nation, they have the name Eastsmith.
