Thor's Hammer 6/2/2458

General Summary

Checking Your Messages and Other Ship Stuff

  • Still on the ship, journeying on, the captain received a sending from Donnie's nephew Geflael.
"Hello, is this Farren? Anyways, this is Gelflael calling on behalf of aunt Donnie. She's in tro No I won't that's not... right, I mean technically, "   "Hello? Fine fine! Aunt Donnie wants me to inform you to inform Wyldo that she wins. She's gotten into the treasure. Will you arrive soon and...?"

  • Krumbleton heard thrice from Randy, who wanted him to be there for the opening of the Pocketwatch. Krumbleton considered ghosting Randy, but instead he apologized and said he would not be able to make it.
  • The final message from Randy seemed to indicate that Randy was worried for the opening of the Pocketwatch, but was cut off - apparently he somehow managed to send to the wrong individual.
Krumblton, I was hoping wondering would like you to rsvp to my invitation at your earliest convenience. The Pocketwatch opens in a week's time. Very excited.   It would be good, I think, for m the guild to have you here to see the start of a new chapter after all the mess.
  • Alton trained Wyn in the use of his dagger. She was very enthusiastic about this.
  • Alton attempted to further bond with his bow, but the spirit within seemed not to offer any more information for the time. The bow did however tug him slightly in various directions throughout the trip.
  • Rust completed work on his new scythe and Judy's ballistae.
  • Harold refused to shrink down to normal size and instead spent most of the time flying, and some time on deck, weighing the ship down.

Return to the Circle of Luin

  • The Divine Retribution eventually returned to the Circle of the Moon. There, the party noted that the four ruined buildings housed soft blue flames burning through their anterior walls.
  • The one once known as Thelar informed the party that another group had caused them to light up some time ago.
  • When asked for guidance, Thelar warned the party to be careful of an enemy that is not yours made one by an enemy that is. Actually more than one... hmmm.

A Brisk Walk

  • The party and only Wyldo Marsh set off on foot to scout the location marked on the map in the Tome of Legendary Lore.
  • Fernando was concerned that the party had not brought appropriate clothing but remained in the ship, unwilling to set foot on the sacred ground of the Circle of Luin.
  • Along the way, they crossed some large wolves, some with bells and collars. One fell into the half frozen lake, as the others crowded around him. The party continued on. Some time later, the party heard a whistle and a deep voice say something along the lines of "here boy, you will be alright."
  • The party narrowly avoided a remorhaz who also wore a collar of bells.
  • There was a small camp in the distance that seemed abandoned but was not investigated.
  • To the north, there was a large camp of frost giants. Apparently, they were looking for a "short dark elf". There was some talk of murder.
  • The party managed to intimidate the giants into backing off after bringing up that they had bested Vakaros.

Around Here Somewhere

  • The party had opportunity to search for the hammer. Rust used his ability to not breathe and investigated the lake, which was extremely cold but not frozen solid. It was however filled with big toothed fish. Panda and Hugs did not like the temperature.
  • Wyldo Marsh shared two potions of water breathing with the party, on the promise that he would be first to touch the treasure.
  • Rust and Alton found the Hammer, resting atop a mirror atop a pedestal on the ocean floor. It was surrounded by ruined walls and elven statues. The water nearest the hammer was strangely warm.
  • Krumbleton dove into the water, and reached down to the hammer. It shrunk slightly to perfectly fit into his hand. A voice welcomed him, but warned him his friends above were still in danger.

Immigrant Song on Loop

  • Krumbleton, Alton, and Rust were rocketed out of the lake to find Wyldo, Farren, and Harold standing before an approaching hoard of frost giants, who it seemed had been waiting for the party to find the treasure/hammer.
  • Rust hasted Krumbleton. Harold prepared lightning bolts to strike in time with Krumbleton. Alton attempted to persuade his bow to attack the giants but she seemed uninterested. Something else nearby held her attention. Farren called upon his ring for motes of fire. Krumbleton brought the hammer of Thor down upon these giants.
  • The party brought down many giants before they began to retreat. Their pets following suite. Rust seemed intent on taking down one of the retreating wolves but was foiled by darkness.
  • Alton caught sight of a figure in the distance who seemed to flee when he was spotted. He opted not to give chase.
  • Wyldo noted that four pedestals sticking out of the water in the hidden thawed circle leading down to the mirror (where the hammer had been) bore some symbol of the gods (Thor, Luin, Lyra, Gyrdyr).
