Daybreak Empire

The Daybreak Empire is a religious, aggressively hegemoniacal interplanar dynasty centred on the plane of Eridún. Currently in military possession of some fifty percent of planes in the Greater Eridún Crux Region (GECR), it is the largest empire of its kind in recorded history. This includes all ten of the central Cruxplanes, ensuring vast resource wealth and the populace to mobilize it. The Empire's supreme commander is also the central deity of its state religion, a Humanoid being named Dawnsgleam. This deity reincarnates every few decades, with each incarnation regarding themselves as unique; as such the Empire is sometimes called the Dawnsgleam Dynasty.

Among the Empire's ranks is a squadron of "godkillers"—demigodlike warriors armed with ancient, divinity-nullifying weapons—to quell divine uprisings on freshly-conquered planes. They're known as Justiciars. These godkillers may be accompanied by other powerful entities such as anzu, wurms, kaiju, et cetera, should the need arise. Some particularly intelligent tiam-anzu are even true believers in Dawnsgleam and have class levels in cleric, paladin and the like.

One exception to Daybreak's species-diverse corps are sphinxes, who do not ever seem sympathetic to the Empire's causes and are indeed painted by Daybreak holy texts as capricious, untrustworthy monsters.

The Victorious Noontide

There are several groups dedicated to the downfall of Daybreak, though none are so powerful or so organized as The Victorious Noontide, an interplanar group centred around seven mysterious, well-hidden demigods. Also known more simply as the Rebel Gods, worship or even acknowledgement of this group is strictly forbidden on Empyreal planes; punishment varies from jail time to extradition to death.

Waking Materia

Waking Materia, in its current Third Age, has not yet fallen under Dawnsgleam's gaze, as it is a relative backwater in the Silurian Eighth. The Empire is perhaps another century or two away at its current rate of expansion.
