This sword was found impaled in the skeleton of the presumed warden of the ancient prison the Party uncovered while tracking the Mistglide legacy through the swamps of Lake Thane. Drawn to it instantly, Hobart Shaw found that the steel had not lost its luster over thousands of years. It felt elegant in his hands, as if it could pierce the actual air. When he inspected the weapon closely, he found an unfamiliar crest etched into the pommel. It didn't match anything else in the dungeon or any symbol he'd encountered in his travels.
Upon returning to Mystryl, the rapier caught the attention of a Guild contact. After the Midnight Mountain Incident, the man contacted Hobart and told him about the Ebon Stars. Once Hobart joined the group, Fabian gifted Hobart with a scabbard that unlocked more of the rapier's traits.
