BUGPIP PRESENTS: POST SUMMERCAMP 2024 READINGS AND THOUGHTS
BUGHOLDER'S EPIPHANY HAS MET THE GOAL FOR SUMMERCAMP! HUZZAH! JOY!
Writing about Summercamp this year was very interesting for BUGHOLDER'S EPIPHANY, all things considered. As stated in BUGPIP PRESENTS: SUMMER CAMP 2024 PLEDGE, it had been an eternity since BUGHOLDER'S EPIPHANY, once known as SOLITARY, worked on worldbuilding on Worldanvil and partook in the yearly events. Okay, technically it was back in 2022, but regardless! It had been a long while.
Although BUGHOLDER'S EPIPHANY ran out of steam near the end, it was still such a delightful experience that helped BUGHOLDER'S EPIPHANY flesh out WITHERED WORLDS. It was enough that BUGHOLDER'S EPIPHANY has begun developing a base for more of the realms. Alongside that, BUGHOLDER'S EPIPHANY has created two distinct musical albums related to WW:
Of course, BUGHOLDER'S EPIPHANY had some fun reading the various articles people have made throughout Summercamp! Here's BUGHOLDER'S EPIPHANY'S favorite ones! I will also provide a funny lil' sprite doodle to go along with them.
Cheese! A quaint article about a piece of cheese that's been charmed! Although personally BUGHOLDER'S EPIPHANY would like to listen to someone who had eaten this piece of cheese, there is also the funny mental image of someone fighting over this cheese.
A tragic and devastating one, as expected of a conflict that involves a a sci-fi world with warring factions. Honestly, my favorite part was near the end, where it talks about the sacrifice of Celera in attempting to win the war in the favor of the League. Only for it all to be in vain.
A short and quaint one, but still rather pleasant nonetheless! A nice sounding library, especially if it gives you the chance to see ghosts interacting and talking about various events that can be contradictory to that in the books. Also, love the idea of a place giving you musical instruments to try out.
bugbugbugbugbugbug
Er I mean-- I like this bug, it looks rather pretty :) Plus the artwork for it looks nice and pretty! Lowkey kinda want an entire terrarium of them tbh. Especially if they're able to zap you. Swarms my enemies with all of these bugs.
Another quaint one, this time about penguins! Specifically about a VIP Penguin Experience at a Sci-fi Space Zoo. Get a chance to see a space penguin and get to pet a space penguin! Also has a link to a charity that's out to support African Penguins, which honestly sounds like a really good thing to do!
Now let me let you all in on a little secret: I love unique ways of presenting stories, such as with websites doing wild things or, in the case of Habita, worldanvil being wrangled into telling a story. With an interesting idea on display involving an abandoned space station, it's a unique read that I hope to see more of!
Another one that has a different way of presenting itself, as a small story of what it's like to visit a particular inn where the hostess gives you some delicious food, has a nice chat with you, and then gives you a special vial that lets you have a nice, pleasant trip where you feel like your wishes are becoming real. A rather nice place that I'd sure as hell visit in all honesty.
A heartfelt one about a tradition for those that are about to pass on, where you light a candle at their feet and, when their body finally does give out, the fire goes out with them-- the flame going along with the soul to help guide them as they enter their eternal rest. Surrounded by dozens of flowers, and mourned by the family around them.
I won't lie, I've always enjoyed seeing things about different ways Vampires sustain themselves outside of the usual of drinking blood. This is one of those things that brings me a lot of interest due to that, plus the mental image of a lil' juice box with a funny lil drawing on it being filled with blood sounds oddly sweet to me. Plus, flavored blood. Sounds delicious.
CHRISTMAS IN
So yeah it was as much a fun time reading everyone else's work as much as it was making stuff.
So, what now for BUGHOLDER'S EPIPHANY?
Well, I have a few articles in mind up next for Withered Worlds. Current planning is to get to work on the actual magical systems that will be seen throughout Withered Worlds (Of which there'll be a lot, from weird magical rocks to crazy folding paper to magical spells and all sorts of things!). Alongside that, I want to work on the CSS and Main pages for the other sections of Withered Worlds, starting with Terra Eclipsis.
Alongside that, however, I have more plans in mind. Alongside making more music for Withered Worlds, I have two potential projects in mind that will require a fair amount of worldbuilding I imagine but will hopefully be on display someday soon:
horizons
Something based off a dream I had once, about a bunch of people being stuck in a school that has been thoroughly broken, filled with ghosts and the military trying to get involved.
Magika: Dangerous Hearts
This one is in the early stages of creation so I'm not 100% certain on when this one will become an actual thing, but the best way I can describe my thinking is something involving Magical Girls except with influences from Devilman Crybaby and Godspeed You! Black Emperor, among other things.
In the meantime, have this art showcasing a small part of it:
So that's the plan for BUGHOLDER'S EPIPHANY, alongside projects outside of worldbuilding. BUGHOLDER'S EPIPHANY hopes you'll all enjoy and stick around for what BUGHOLDER'S EPIPHANY has in store for the future! Have a good summercamp, and a good 2024!
Aaa thank you for the mention and the amazing art! Shirrin would welcomed you with open wings!
You're welcome! I would gladly visit Shirrin a lot, haha
