BUGPIP PRESENTS: SUMMER CAMP 2024 PLEDGE

BUGHOLDER'S EPIPHANY PRESENTS THEIR PLEDGE FOR THIS YEAR'S SUMMERCAMP EXTRAVAGANZA.

It has been an eternity since BUGHOLDER'S EPIPHANY, once known as SOLITARY GAMER ALSO SOLITARY AKA TSG, had partaken in SUMMER CAMP. As such, BUGHOLDER'S EPIPHANY is excited to return to this and write about the world that shall be a proper work without restraint or worry or concern.

What better way to return to worldbuilding than with this?

Withered Worlds

Everything is teetering on the edge of everything

WORLDS THAT WERE ONCE BEAUTIFUL WORLDS THAT ARE NOW WITHERED

Everything has been properly organized and categorized, with proper tags ready if need be. The Meta is ready. The primer has been completed. Let us go into: THE THEMES.

THEMES

1. CHANGES

And you better start swimmin'
or you'll sink like a stone,
for the times they are a-changin'!

WITHERED WORLDS shall have reflections and indications of the changes between the Worlds of the OLD and how they've transformed into something dangerous and risky, worlds of chaos and survival. People will survive and thrive, the best they can, and they will adapt to the changes that they all have been through as a result of calamity, both realm-wide and personal.

2. REFUGE

It's been about three days now since I've been aground
No longer overwhelmed and it seems so simple now
It's funny when things change so much, it's all state of mind
— Pearl Jam's In Hiding

Civilians, Soldiers, and every one in between have all had to seek refuge in the new world, with all of their homes having been laid to waste. There is no home for people to return to anymore. People will seek refuge in the ruins of their past lives, of families they've managed to gain unrelated to their blood, of places built high and standing fast against the world, everywhere.

3. BELIEF

I believe in lovers walking side by side
I believe that someday we'll be satisfied
I believe the angels listen, God hears us pray
And I believe, in a beautiful day
Yeah I believe, it's gonna work out okay

But not for me
And not for you
— Melissa Hollick's I Believe

People shall seek for answers and hope from what gods may be out there, varied and strange as they all are. Alongside that, individuals will seek belief in oneself, in their own ability to survive, and will find their beliefs in the structures and systems of the old world having shattered after everything that has happened to them.

4. DECAY

The sun has fallen down
And the billboards are all leering
And the flags are all dead at the top of their poles
— Godspeed You! Black Emperor's The Dead Flag Blues

The world has decayed immensely in the aftermath of The Withering. Cities that were once large and sprawled across the landscape have decayed into smaller areas surrounded by ruins upon ruins, minds have fallen into disarray and morality has taken a hit in a lot of places, for a lot of people within these darkened realms.

BUGHOLDER'S EPIPHANY HAS BEEN PREPPED AND READY FOR WORLDANVIL'S SUMMER CAMP 2024. BUGHOLDER'S EPIPHANY HAS THE ENERGY AND THC TO PREPARE THEM MENTALLY FOR IT. BUGHOLDER'S EPIPHANY HAS THE SUPPORT OF THEIR FRIENDS. THEIR MUSIC IS READY.

SEE YOU FOR SUMMER CAMP 2024.

WEEK ONE

Theme: Changes

Turn and face the strange, Ch-ch-changes!

Post-week thoughts

WORD COUNT: 11687

This was an interesting time for BUGHOLDER'S EPIPHANY, getting back into writing on Worldanvil with WITHERED WORLDS. It's felt wonderful and writing about different aspects of CHANGES throughout the worlds has been an interesting experience. Of all ten articles BUGHOLDER'S EPIPHANY has created, the only one they feel particularly unsatisfied with is SLAUGHTERFEST GRANDESLAMME I. As although it was an interesting thing to write about with entertainment and fun, it felt too zany for BUGHOLDER'S EPIPHANY'S liking.

WEEK TWO

Theme: Refuge

When the levee breaks I'll have no place to stay...

Post-week thoughts

WORD COUNT: 18784

This was an interesting week for sure, but I enjoyed it a lot! Had a bit of challenge compared to last week trying to figure out what all I wanted to write about, but I feel as though what I did speaks for itself. The word count wasn't as high as it was last week, I believe, but I still did my best to supply as much as i could for these articles, as well as give them decent artwork to go with them!

WEEK THREE

Theme: Belief

Describe a relic, or symbol of belief.
Describe slang or a language associated with religion or belief.
The King Whom Must Not Be Named
Language | Jul 14, 2024

Never. Say his name.

Describe a settlement that is known as a party town or pleasure city.

Post-week thoughts

See next week for this week's thoughts.

WEEK FOUR

Theme: Decay

Describe a myth or prophecy about the end of the world.
Describe a material that is resistant to decay.
Decribe a degenerative disease.
Decribe a piece of tech that prevents decay.
Describe a storyteller, author, or bard.
Describe a food often eaten by travellers.
Describe a building that was meant to be temporary.

Post-week thoughts

WORD COUNT: 28404

Unfortunatley, I ended up running out of steam near the end of Week 3, partly due to a desire to avoid burnout, but also due to running out of ideas on the latter prompts as well as attention being demanded by other projects of mine. Thankfully, though, I was able to meet the goal of achieveing diamond! Hurray!
