Dragon-kin

Dragon-Kin are human hybrids that came about after the Draconic Wars in 4215 2E. These humans absorbed the power of the Northern Dragons, despite the warnings of the Roncarians. These humans absorbed the power of the Northern Dragons, however, they were transformed and became draconic. Scales grew on their skin, and their tounges transformed longer and split. their teeth grew sharp, and horns grew upon their heads. Although they were given immense power like that of the dragons. Their foreign bodies were too much for them to handle, and their still human spines collapsed under their weight, and they came under immense suffering from their shifted bodies. Many of these dragonkin joined the forces of Seria, and brought destruction upon the armies of Roncaria. When Seria was defeated, the dragon-kin that fought with Seria were all but destroyed, and the remaining few were sent to Sarus in exile with the rest of the tribe of Seria. However, the dragon-kin that did not fight for Seria, and still remained under the control of Roncaria willingly, were forgiven for their sin, and were given land on the border of the northern Kenbarna mountains, known as Draciondule. The dragon-kin were able to live partially peaceful lives, despite the suffering caused from their transformed bodies, under the land of Draciondule. They were made to be loyal subjects of the newly formed Roscrean Empire, although they were forced to pay tribute and a third of all their youth were to constantly be forced to be enlisted in the Roscrean military, and use their powerful draconic powers to quell Roscrea's enemies.    When the Isles of Humanity were explored and settled, the emperor decided to migrate the dragon-kin from Draciondule, to the westernmost island, known as Sayquine. Draciondule became desolate as the dragon-kin left, and it became inhabited by all manner of creatures and vermin. The dragon-kin were still forced to pay tribute, be loyal subjects to Roscrea, and enlist their youth to the Roscrean military, but they were given their own island and increased land, that was fresher and more rich in resources. The Dragon-kin now live relatively peaceful lives on Sayquine, however, if trouble should come from the west, they would be the first line of defense for Roscrea.

Naming Traditions

Family names

Dradule, Tuhudal, Menboul.

Major organizations

Man-borne and Hevuil.

Two prominent establishments and groups aroused from the dragon-kin almost instantaneously. The Man-borne believed that they should be subservient to humans, as they were once humans as well, and their ancestors had committed a grave sin. They cut their horns and claws, and try their best to live human lives despite their changed bodies. The Hevuil are the exact opposite, as they think that while the lesser radical groups of the Hevuil believe they should remain under human rule, they embrace their dragon culture, and want to develop their own culture away from human culture, as well as embrace their powers.
