Rafalquor

Rafalquor was build on the ruins of an elven city build around a huge oasis in the Sandsea.   Thanks to the desert surrounding it, it was able to defend itself from Nanamir's the Great conquest campaign. In the end it was willing to submit itself to the new kingdom rule, but not without ensuring itself some exceptions and special rules. The most wellknown exception to the law of the Realm is the legality of contract based slavery - people are allowed to sell themselves into slavery for money or services.   The ruling families of the city worship primarily Gynebra, the Maiden and Iiudash. The Maiden and Iiudash have their own large temples in the city, with the Maiden's serving as high court. Gynebra has on the one hand her biggest temple on Yarklash here, but also all entertainment establishments are here even more clearly dedicated to the godess.
The city guard consists in large parts of empoverished half orcs and half elves who sold themselves into slavery of the city. Despite being slaves their jobs are respected.

Demographics

40% humans, 25% half elves, 25% half orcs, 5% elvens, rest mixed.

Defences

The city itself has no walls only the nobel estates within as there is no need to protect it from any signifcant force because of the desert surrounding it.

Besides the city guard several mercenary companies like to stay in Rafalquor for the money they make protecting the city and its mines.

Industry & Trade

Rafalquor's wealth is mostly based on slave labour in the gem mines. Besides that its entertainment establishments are reknowned through out the continent.

Thanks to the oasis they have some minor fertile land, but it would not be enough to supply the city. Instead they mainly use it for exotic fruits and vegetables that they can export for outragous sums. This also means they are dependent on food from the Twin River Lands.

Assets

The city is created around the biggest oasis within the Sandsea.

Several gem mines are in the vicinity of the city.
