Session 58: Arriving at the seat of power of Ore-Ida. Report

General Summary

17th of Ares, 500CD: As the peace accords continue in the city of Soteropolis for 96 hours. The member of Acq Inc continue on with the business at hand. Arceven and Dagwyn have gotten the official deed to the legendary island of Harker's Keep. This was the seat of power for years under the control of the Black Legion empire in N Azure. The island was named after the Harker family who was the governors of the Ore-Ida region for years. With the defeat of the Black Legion empire during the War of the Ancients Harker's Keep became abandoned. No one has been to this island since the War of the Ancients 500 years ago. There are stories and rumors about the island. Ships to this day do everything they can to stay away from the island. In the past 15 years ships getting to close to the island are never seen again. The atrocities that were done on the island is another reason why people have chosen to stay away from the island. On the 16th of Ares a package was delivered by the magistrate which included a map of the island. The map was dated over 500 years ago but in excellent shape. Now the question is what does the island look like today? 17th of Ares, 500CD Franchise K aboard the Grand Rose left the Acq Inc docks on the morning of the 17th of Ares at the 9th hour. The Grand Rose was being captained by Erick Sutton one of the five men involved in the attack on the Baroness in Messesopontos. They have struck a strong accord with Dagon. Needing a ship as soon as possible the decision was made by Arceven and officers of Franchise K to recommission the Grand Rose and bring it out of Dry Dock. The skeleton crew put together included the five men who attacked Baroness Dagwyn and all the squires as well as some experienced sailors hired. It took eight hours to reach Harker's Keep. Along the way they were warned by shipping vessels and fishing boats to pick a different course. Even the new hired hands struggled with the course they were taking. Not only did the route take them to Harker's Keep, but it passed the unknown island that is rarely talked about. About the 7th hour the Harker's Keep is now visible as they get closer they notice that are jagged rocks and no docks. The map did not show any jagged rocks. Looking at the island there was nowhere to port. As they studied the map and got closer arcane checks were done and illusion magic was detected. Arceven tried to dispel the magic but no avail. Arceven told the captain to proceed and they went through the illusion spotting the roman style port as the map depicted. Two light houses were seen on the north and south ends of the port. A elf and two dragon soldiers were seen on one of the lighthouses. Dagwyn made quick haste and took out the two soldiers before anyone noticed. As they approached the port around 42 slaves could be seen moving freight to the port as the task masters recognized the ship. Magwyn took over from here dressed in her crimson brotherhood armor. Hiding the Order of the Phoenix knights in the captains quarters until needed.   Magwyn did her best to try and set up the crew and party members for a surprise attack, but Dagwyn had other ideas and stuck pretty quick before anyone could get set up. Magwyn just glared at her sister. The fight was on as the members of the Shining Eclipse took out the slave masters which included two minotaur's, three Dragon speakers with bard abilities, and five Dragon Chosen short stubby dwarf looking things. They were able to prevent anyone from leaving the dock and warning any one on the island of their arrival. The slaves stood there in shock and silence as this unknown party of people took out there slave masters. Once the fight was over the elf in the tower passed out ending the illusion spell on the island. The party also learned that there were several members of the Oakencrown family on this island. This included Lysander Oakencrown the father of Hehelana Oakencrown. The party began removing the slave collars on the necks of the former slaves. Tear and joy on their faces realizing that they have been set free, yet they were still worried about something.
