We were summoned to Restov where we had a banquet in Zira's honor as she was made to be the Baroness of the land we had been exploring. I hate social gatherings. I would much rather be outside in the wilderness. At least the food was good. Some people were pleasant enough, but that pompous prick, Hannis Drelev, showed up. Heinous Hannis is a baron to the west, and I believe that he will cause us trouble. He is a Baron due to the efforts of his ancestors. As a point to my voiced observation, I stole his food and walked away with it as his bodyguard tried to push me. He has done nothing, and is a bully. Heinous' bodyguard is a bully as well. I hate bullies, and have put many in their place over the years. I mocked him openly, and Ikori cursed his bodyguard when he touched her. That was the highlight of the night.
After we returned to Valeria, what will be a capital city built around what was the Stag Lord's fort, we were greeted by several people. The one that stands out the most is the Storyteller. He told us some of the stories of some of the items we had found. I showed him my father's journal and he gave me a glimpse of his trail. For now I need to help protect this new nation, but I will make time to track down my father.
Some of the merchants brought supplies that were especially welcome. I bought an enchanted mithril chain mail shirt. I will be nice to wear something light and comfortable again. I was getting tired of that bulky breastplate. The Storyteller crafted a necklace out of some of the parts we had found. I put it on, and it helps me to become a better sentry and commando of the woodlands. Add that to what I have so far: elven boots, the fine bow of the Stag Lord, his helmet, and an enchanted rapier. I am dressed to kill.
