Along the road I met an interesting character. His name, as far as he gave it, is Kris Dirk. He is a blacksmith, of some renown, who hails from Egypt. He is searching for a knight named Cair Wailen, or some such. As we were heading in the same direction we traveled together into Burgundy.
Upon our arrival in Burgundy we set out to find an inn. Where we could learn more about local goings on. There was a heavily armored fellow in the common room of the inn boasting loudly. Making wild claims of immortality, and cannot be killed. A short while later another individual caught my notice. I man appearing to be in his middle years, was asking after a scribe by the name of <name>. This man and the boastful one started talking and after a minute the name Fortizum was brought up. At that point I went and introduced myself. The boastful man's name is Reynald, and the other is named Nilus. Both are members of the Dio Fortizum. I later learned that Reynald and another of us named Soren were sent to Burgundy by a patron by the name of Mistress Etta. Their goal was to stop another man from progressing his plans, as it was interring with their Mistress. As we were getting acquainted Soren returned and reported finding information regarding their query.
Unfortunately the trail lead us into the foul underbelly of the town, the sewers. In the sewers we encountered a bald sickly looking man, who was infact the man Reynald and Soren were looking for. After a breif exchange of words we charged him. Using some magic this man was able to enchant the local rodents, and have them do his bidding. Nilus, Soren, Reynold and I changed the man, his Rats biting at out legs. Nilus took several wounds. Soren slew the man with a single blow. I found several drawings of magic symbols on his corpse, along with a book I could not read. Kris was able to read the book, and reported that it contains information on the 4 humors of the body. Further investigation of the corpse revealed that a flute the man was using was magical. We then returned to the inn to recover and attend to our wounds.
The next morning heavens remained dark.
