I'm surrounded by idiots....

by Lim Dul

Time to find work again. Looking on the board, I see a mage is doing bombing runs of other mages. A request for a sturdy fighter is needed. I need some cash so I sign up. A Paladin, another fighter who is ranged based and a priest. Im not impressed.....

I don't bother with the names because, well, pawns have no names. That is why they're pawns.

The wizard who hired us is as useless. His glyph of transportation fizzles and he actually, catapults us onto a the ship. Upon landing, we see 3 flesh golems. The Paladin suggest a surprise attack. Honor and valor my ass. We do get the jump on the golems. I handle mine easily, but the paladin stuggles with his. And the Fighter!!!! He is as useless as a tick on a rats ass. His weapons dont even affect the things. He resorts to constantly tripping the things. The one he focuses on still kicks the crap out of him for the most part. The priest is moderately useful.

The golems are wearing metal boots that make them stick to the deck. The one the Paladin was supposed to handle keeps pitching the ship to throw us overboard. I finally have to intervene and kill that damn thing.

I dispatch the last golem and we take a bit of a breather. The ship is a two story transport so we go downstairs.

Below was absolutely fascinating. A structure built for destruction. Bombs, lightning, gases, tables with beakers and flasks. I almost joined the mage but two air elementals started messing with us. The priest enchanted me with some shared damage spell. Intitially, I thought, hell, I could kill the mage, elementals and the priest could be sort of a bonus!

They would become a tornado and throw you. The priest was thrown into a gelatinous cube. The moron couldn't even escape.

The mage hit us with a cone of cold. Little did I know the priest was already unconscious. He still took half the damage. My mother told me there are simple joys in life to experience. The fighter again was absolutely useless, and the Paladin had no clue what to do. I chased after the mage who went invisible. He didn't count on Hellsight. Unfortunately, I got thrown by an elemental, and the mage went upstairs. I give chase expecting the Paly and Fighter to handle the elementals.

They didn't. They had to jump out a window to escape, not thinking we were in the sky flying. Oh, and did I tell you these were "air" elementals? They fly. Apparently, the fighter could fly, but not like the air. So what do these two morons do, they lead the air elementals to the top deck with me and the mage. IDIOTS!

So, instead of me handing this mage his head, an air elemental throws me overboard! Luckily, I snagged a scroll of feather fall. The Paly hung onto the fighter like a simpering fool and we all made it to the ground.

Failing at this task I realize I need to be a better judge of who is around me. It wasn't a total loss, I helped kill the priest! Mom told me to celebrate your little achievements.
