Having returned to the Yawning Portal at the insistence of the Watch, I settle into "my" corner with a pot of tea. The others [Aurora & Alishei] start discussing what we learned, and a couple other adventurers [Rhen & Verily] join in. Apparently this Volo fellow has been doing a lot of recruiting. He must really be desperate to find his friend.
 
Venturing into the sewers, we follow yellow chalk drawings of a sun [circle with 10 rays] to an intersection guarded by a gazer. Aurora puts the gazer to sleep with a spell, and while the others are arguing about whether or not to kill it I unlock the not-so-secret door it was guarding. Continuing forward, we dispatch a couple of goblin guards before exploring further. There's a barracks area where we hear a couple of people arguing - something about blocking a door with furniture versus plugging cracks and holes with blankets. A human with orkish ancestry runs into the barracks area and starts grabbing blankets. It takes him a minute to realize that Alishei is standing in the middle of the room holding a torch. The orc-man drops the blankets and attacks.
 
Turns out there's a grey ooze crawling out of the toilet, and the orc-man was trying to contain it. While the others interrogate him, the ooze creeps forward. Verily attempts to shove the prisoner into the ooze (after an attempt to block its path with burning blankets fails) while the others run away. I kill it easily.
