Jay hated the feeling of helplessness that surrounded the group on their flight to Silverymoon, after its panicked escape from the Eye of the All-father. Luckily, their goal wasn't just "deal with Imrith", but actually something that felt possibly within their reach - helping the giant king and restoring the Ordning. Still, would they ever recover from that blow, from the fear and inability they now felt in the face of their truest enemy?
Despite herself, and in spite of all the sorrow and anger that filled her, something in the back of Jay's mind told her feel proud. For the slightest moment, the dragon's visage had filled her mind with a blind rage and her ears with deafening white nose, every fiber in her body ready to fight. Then, she had remembered her friends' smiles and had heard their chuckling laughter, and she realized what she had to do. Not what her raging mind desired, but what her heart had told her to do. If it had been half a year ago, they may have all died that day, her friends perishing while trying to get Jay's crushed body from out of the dragon's grasp. Instead, they lived on to fight and laugh another day. When the despair had faded, she mouthed many a silent thanks to Tyr for that.
Though, Hashnag was dead, adding to the hatred that filled her very being. As far as she knew, he had been one of the truly good ones. She would do everything she could to avenge him.
