Two images popped into Jay's mind during the brief fighting with the giant spooks. First, the image of Sira Cimbar (whose picture she still had in the charm hanging below her neck), lying by the altar in that temple in Bryn Shander, an idol of Tyr clenched in her stiff, cold hands. Sira, whose death felt like yet another dead innocent on Jay's already heavy shoulders. Then, as that token of Tyr - god of the justice which Jay thought faltered so - flashed by her memory, her scimitar emitted a light so brilliant that she almost dropped the weapon mid-swing. In that light, she could see herself, wrath and kind laughter in her eyes both, wielding a blade with that same light, and a shield which emblem showed a jaybird on top of a scale.
