Hasedar Forgeworks

Who will protect your grimoire?

Structure

Hasedar is widely recognized as the legitimate arm of the Din of the Deeps, and as such is ultimately run by their Lla bosses. Ostensibly, however, the corporation is run by the Septet, a group of seven Lla. In order to maximize deniability regarding the Din's less legitimate enterprises, the structure of the corporation is chaotic in the extreme, with many employees having multiple direct supervisors that are unaware of each other.

Public Agenda

Hasedar is a source of supplemental income for the Din, and acts in that capacity first and foremost. They launder money for the Din, process and sell hot property, illegally-obtained information, and work any other angle the Din can monetize.

Assets

Hasedar is barely large enough to be considered a megacorporation, with a "mere" 900 manufacturing plants spread around the galaxy, in addition to a vast fleet of trading vessels and consumer retailers.

History

Twenty years ago, before the advent of True Magic, Hasedar was a small money laundering organization that sold a single knockoff exosuit of the Rudi Calvary line. This knockoff, meant to accept bootlegged spellcraft chips, went on to become the Hasedar XR-900 "Warlock" that has seen a resurgence of sorts now that Hasedar's reputation has begun to improve.

True Magic changed everything. Seeing a gap in the exosuit market, Hasedar took a chance with a test group of arcane magi, and provided them custom-built exosuits tailored to the needs of a combat wizard. The focus group succeeded wildly in their mission and offered to buy the prototypes for more than their R&D cost, which was an absurd proposition given the figures involved. Hasedar Forgeworks quickly cornered the market among arcane adventurers, save a single hybrid suite sold by NGE.

Hasedar is attempting to distance itself from its image as a bootlegging arm of the galactic mafia, but is facing some difficulty, especially given its intimate financial ties to key Din officers. A high-profile court case in which Rudi Interstellar cited intellectual property theft regarding certain features in the XR-900 "Warlock" has been a particular hurdle for the company to surpass.

Demography and Population

Hasedar employs nearly 100 million souls. Uniquely, a small fraction of their employees are outed Proxies, who would otherwise be unable to work due to the legal challenges surrounding artificial intelligence—not to mention their poor reputation, thanks to their generally-illegal original purposes. It is widely assumed the Din allows compromised Proxies to "retire" to Hasedar, and Hasedar refuses to comment on the allegations.
