Melynk, The Prison City

You know? My Uncle got sent to Melynk once... Sure he stabbed a man in the heart for trying to knick a loaf of bread, but wouldn't you? ..Anyway, the ways he told it to me, he lasted all of three weeks in the Stone Vaults, near total darkness he says... by the that point he was begging to be released, really crying you know? Anyways shortly thereafter some war was brewing in the desert and they needed men, so off to the rats he went. Naturally he escaped two weeks into the campaign. Tells me it was the best sleep he'd ever gotten... -Unkown
Known as the The Prison City, much of Melnyk has slowly been absorbed into the workings of the Stonevaults, a system of jails and dungeons that hold most of Irinoff's criminals. By extenison, Melynk is the heart of the Gutter Legions, Irinoff's bands of criminal soldiers.

The Wards of Melynk

The Legionaries Keep

The Gutter Legions, being headquartered in Melynk were allotted a district on the northernmost parts of the city near to towards the swamplands. The Legionaries Keep serves as dual functions as a procesing center for the Rats of the Legion and as a resting spot for the Low Lords and the privileged Grey Knives whove proven themselves reliable.

The Stonevaults

Constructed over 22 years from the years of 979 to 1001, the Stonevaults were built under the orders of Grand Duke Ifan Valrak I. A sprawling underground citadel, the Stonevaults, as their name suggests, were carved into the stonework beneath the watershed of Melynk.

While under construction, the completed vaults were already used from 995 through to 1001 during the The Second Khirinan War to house Prisoners of War
