Session 17: Where's Alecto? Report

General Summary

Upon waking to find Alecto Ocreata missing the party gather downstairs to deliberate and discuss. Sprig Silvertoung notices that their memories of the night seem off, as if they've been tampered with. The group head up to investigate the room.
In the room they find traces of illusion magic near the window and Drostre Bassast finds evidence of spell components: rose petals near Alecto Ocreata's bed and metallic remnants near Sprig Silvertoung's hiding place. Consulting Aeneas they learn that the petals could've been from a sleeping or binding spell but the metal is a bit more ambiguous unless they can narrow down the type. With this they head to the apothecary to see if they can do so.
The apothecary suggests a magnet but does not have one so they rub the filings on Sprig Silvertoung to rule out iron. Unfortunately for Sprig Silvertoung they were iron, causing an uncomfortable rash.
The group then split into two with Sprig Silvertoung and Drostre Bassast heading to the library and Bharash Marux and Thryan Rosserk making their way to the market.
The library group found a bit of information about religious locations in the area whereas the market team found that some Sight followers were buying what sounded like potential spell components at the market. The group reunited just outside the inn.
Upon questioning the innkeeper they learnt that the group of Sight followers left just before the party returned to town and that he didn't know which way they went.
The group sent Thryan Rosserk to question the loitering teens. He found that they saw a strange group in their usual alley, the one under Sprig Silvertoung and Alecto Ocreata's window, carrying a bag of flour. Suspicious they sent Bharash Marux to get the full truth finding that the teens though the way they were holding the bag was strange, almost like they were actually holding something larger.
Upon investigating the alley, Drostre Bassast found the smudged and desecrated remains of a teleportation circle just under the window. The group decided to wrap up their investigations in Groveside and head back to Tentaught to hit up some leads there. Aeneas teleported them after finding the relevant circle in the library and requesting funds from the party for the resources required.
Heading down to The Little Pea in Tentaught the party are accosted by a tabaxi, Philamena who is searching for their own friend with similar suspicions. They agree to investigate together and Philamena shares her own leads from The Florentine.
After failing to pick up traces of Alecto Ocreata with magic the group head towards The Florentine as a new starting point. Drostre Bassast, Ashley Benatar  and Thryan Rosserk break off to head to a less fancy establishment, The Gentle Whisper, feeling unwelcome by the overly ostentatious decor.
