The Lunar Gods
"Many are the fools that think that the Lunar Gods are evil. They are not. If anything, it is the Solars that is more wicked than any two Lunar Gods combined. They sit in the palaces on the sun watching with the complete disinterest of suffering, and when asked for help, they tell those in need to say their prayers, follow the laws, and sit passively. The Lunar Gods are at least known to help."
-Gork Darkblade, Hobgoblin Shaman
All the Solar Gods live upon the sun, you could assume the same for the Lunar Gods and the moon. However, Jolenquay in his quest for power has driven many of them away, and they now rule over various of the other planes as their primary place of residence and have gathered for themselves new and different servants.
The Lunar Gods believe in direct intervention and that giving mortals something for their souls is far more effective than sitting idly by. They will admit that the Solar Gods have a good strategy in offering mortals eternal paradise, even if it is a lie. But the Lunar Gods have correctly identified that mortals are very willing to trade away their soul for some comfort or power in this life.
So, the Lunar Gods give rewards in exchange for devotion and the greatest rewards to those who give their soul. The nature of the people who often follow the Lunar Gods are short-sighted, often selfish or power-hungry and this has given rise to the idea that the Lunar Gods are ‘evil’. The truth is that all Gods are equally callous to the plights of mortals, but the Solar Gods have done a better job persuading mortals that their intentions are good.
The Lunar Gods claim that they have greater respect for mortals, approaching mortals and making an exchange, rather than setting rules and demanding obedience. The Lunar Gods contact mortals regularly through their Devil servants and are quick to answer prayers with direct action, however it should be noted a soul cannot be sold twice, and they are far less likely to lift a finger for those whose souls are already bound.
