Stokra

Demographics

Stokra naturally has a mostly human leaning populace, with dwarves and halflings being second place.   Elves and Tieflings are in far smaller numbers comparatively, and the rest of the contemporary races perhaps number even fewer (gnomes, half-elves, etc.)   The rarest races would be Dragonborn and Goliath, with a perhaps one or two Drow running about.   Profession wise, Stokra is almost entirely composed of craftsmen and merchants - Guards exist, but are far less "military" and far more "peacekeepers". Recently, with the arrival of the Royal Guard of Blue Star, more and more military personnel have been funneling onto the island.

Government

Stokra is run by a small council of delegates sent from Blue Star itself. They have yet to interact with Dragons Wings personally, as its Guildmaster, Riswynn Fallack, is the one to engage with them.   This council is allowed to enact basic state laws in the area, and also serves as the main governing body for any additional settlements that crop up.   The laws are moderate and forgiving, and the taxes are meager enough to allow Stokra to survive, but still allow a worker to keep most of their wage to buy whatever provisions they may need - In fact, Blue Star makes most of its profit by importing goods sold to them by the merchants on the island and exporting them to the rest of the mainland at somewhat inflated prices.

Defences

Stokra has a meager stone wall that circles its entirety, keeping it safe from animals and basic invaders.

Industry & Trade

Most of the inhabitants ply their trade, some even relying on the adventurers' from Dragons Wings to continously make a tidy sum. One of the most important exports from Ysgard is the wood, dubbed "Ysgard-Oak" on the mainland, and already established as a sturdier (and exotic) alternative for furniture and some basic military equipment.   Word has circled about the potential export of Drasilite in the near future, though..

Infrastructure

Stokra's infrastructure is still somewhat in its adolescence despite its 5 year stay; It holds a few watermills, a few windmills, the occasional courtyard, basic roads and basic smithing equipment such as blast furnaces, but most importantly it holds a rather large shipyard - where it receives most of its supplies and aid.

Guilds and Factions

The only major faction is Blue Star's governing body of councilmen.

History

Stokra's history on the island is short, and is Blue Star's second attempt at colonizing the island after its previous failure with Holmond about 10 years prior. Since then, its survived animal packs, the occasional minor goblin raid, and even staved off a Siege-scenario with the help of Dragons' Wings. It continues to flourish with the assistance from Dragons Wings' members.   Recently, however, Dragons' Wings has moved from Stokra to Overlook Tower in an attempt to keep its neutrality after The Kingdom of Andrial declared war on the Empire.

Geography

Stokra sits at the very end of a bay (creatively dubbed "Stokra Bay"), where it lays nestled at the lowest part of nearby rolling hills that ramp up the further inland it goes. While this doesn't quite give them a massively advantageous position in times of war, it somewhat allows them a slightly concealed position as the hills surrounding it cloak it from being viewed on the horizon by distant travelers and beasts

Natural Resources

"Ysgard-Oak" is in abundance around Stokra, let alone the forests on the other side of the hills that surround it, and supposedly there is quite a fair amount of Drasilite to be claimed in the caves not too far from the town..
