Faraldún
Faraldún is a town in Ófelóin, northern province of the Kingdom of Marissía in southern Adynía. It's located on the southern bank of the lower Little-Níaþan -the main tributary of the river Níaþan- in the Sjorgús Mountains foothills, a short distance from the city of Eiakal downriver to the west, and is the closest marissían settlement to the snake monastery of Anþa Vylkalí-æ-Vóane at the river's source.
The town is chiefly known for the Faraldún Academy which it's named after, an ancient center of learning in the region, particularly in the fields of astronomy and -to lesser extent- medicine, including healing magic. Traditionally, the townsfolk are responsible for maintaining the academy and providing the scholars and students there with food and other necessities as a form of tax.
The name, meaning Place of a Fallen Star, has obscure origins, but Faraldún has been associated with astral symbols for millennia.
