Kessikyl
Katargysian: Kez Eken
Kessikyl is the capital of the kingdom of Nússa in northern Gysikan. Like Darhela in neighboring Lerdis it was originally built by the Katargysians, and later settled by the Nússans after the latter conquered the region.
Located in the narrow Danra Canyon, Kessikyl is one of the few Katargysian cities with a number of buildings on the surface, and among the few where the underground section is still somewhat intact. Much of the population lives on the surface, in homes on different levels along the canyon walls, with lowest houses serving as shops and taverns surrounding the market at the bottom. The parts below ground are mostly inhabited by the poor due being cold, damp, poorly ventilated and the danger of tunnels suddenly collapsing.
The royal court is located in an ancient temple which now serves as a palace, notable for its intricate black and white mosaic floors.
