Kóteran Peninsula

The Kóteran Peninsula1 juts out of northeastern Nemirkía into Central Sea, with the northern part forming White Strait together with the southeastern coast of the Meldon Plain, which separates Central Sea to the east from the smaller Gold Sea to the west.
Historically inhabited by human tribes, it has formed the heartland of the two largest empires in Adynía, namely the old Paþarían Empire and currently the Sikíron Empire.

Geography

The peninsula forms a rough rectangle, connected to the mainland by a narrow isthmus. The most notable landmarks are the large Copper Lake to the east, from which the Copper River flows eastwards into Central Sea, and Alkons Hill -highest point of the peninsula- rising a short distance north of the river. The hill is sacred to the inhabitants and is popularly known as The Nest, a reference to the primordial bird in their mythology which created the sun and sky.

Fauna & Flora

Much of the original wildlife has long since been replaced by fields, pastures, orchards and vineyards, even more so than in Nemirkía to provide Gedirkía -capital of the Sikíron Empire- with steady supply of food, olive oil, wine and wool.
