Demographics
The majority of the inhabitants are native Nemirkíans, with a significant minority of half-elves, mostly descendants of Núrakic Elves due to the city's relative proximity to Núrak to the west. Other small communities include Nartens and bekórans, the latter being cousins of the nartens but have become virtually indistinguishable from nemirkíans.
History
Originally founded as a remote colony of the dwarven Zameltoníans during bronze age to mine silver, it eventually became an independent settlement after a native uprising drove the zameltoníans away. The inhabitants managed to stave off the invasion of human tribes during the empire's downfall, and the city-state of Þrahyssilon was one of the major powers in western Nemirkía before the rise of the Paþarían Empire.
After the empire collapsed and split a thousand years ago, Ahaþrys became part of the successor state of Pérgal, weathered off two sieges by the Kingdom of Núrak, and finally joined the Sikíron Empire after the Sikíronians helped defend it during the latter siege.
