Smithstry

The Smithstry region is warm and fertile. Here grows a unique plant, the Thorn Berry. It can be distilled into liquor or fermented into wine, and thusly the countryside is dotted with vineyards and distilleries. The people of Smithstry are welcoming and kind. They will share their prosperity with anyone they judge to be kind and good. Most of the monstrous creatures have been driven away from the towns and population centers, though they remain in the less developed countryside, travel within Smithstry is generally fairly safe.

Geography

Gentle rolling hills, green grasses, and wild Thorn Berries dominate the natural landscape.  Small outcrops of white marble can be seen jutting out of the steeper bluffs. Small groves of larger grown trees dot the landscape generally centered around natural springs.

Ecosystem

Lush natural landscape lends for many grazing herbivores and rodents.  The small groves of trees along the countryside provide hiding places for the docile creatures.

Natural Resources

Smithstry is known for its high-quality Thorn Berry liquor and wine, which are highly sought after in other kingdoms. The kingdom has strong trade relations with neighboring kingdoms, such as Bellrock Kingdom , which provides Smithstry with access to rare spices and exotic goods.

History

The southern reaches of Aenax are some of the most naturally fertile land found on the continent. As Humans expanded their reach they naturally settled on these fertile lands and began to work the earth and turn out many hearty crops.  The strong currents and steep banks of the lower Arnlow river provide a natural boundary separating the land from the tribal orcs who call the Llanos Veld home. Although they make attempts to cross the river and expand their reach into Smithstry no notable campaigns have been effective.

Tourism

The nobility of the Human realms travel to Smithstry in the summer and fall to enjoy the bountiful harvests of food and temperate climate. Though travel by land is dangerous, and travel by ship is expensive.
