Vex Ravaren
Saoradh Vex Ravaren
Vex Ravaren was born in Ederaa, the child of an unknown Human father and a mother who was a former prisoner of the Sanguine Order. His mother’s freedom from the Order came after years of suffering, and as a child of that liberation, Vex grew up hearing stories of hardship, oppression, and eventual freedom. His mother’s experiences shaped his worldview, instilling in him the need to fight for those who cannot fight for themselves and to free others from the cruel grasp of the Sanguine Order. This desire for justice became the guiding principle of his life, and he and his twin sister @Vax eventually joined the An Aghaidh—a secretive, freedom-fighting group working to overthrow the Order’s control and liberate those in its chains.
From a young age, Vex showed a natural talent for strategy, military tactics, and archery, while his sister Vax excelled in hand-to-hand Combat. The twins became integral members of the An Aghaidh at the tender age of 14, quickly rising through the ranks due to their unique Skills and unwavering dedication to their cause. By 21, Vex became a Saoradh (freedom fighter), an elite member trusted with high-stakes missions. His first mission was to escort former prisoners of the Order to safety, an assignment that ultimately proved to be a turning point in his life.
During the mission, Vex was grievously injured. A guard from the Sanguine Order trapped his arm in a door and severed it with a halberd, leaving him to die from blood loss. It was only thanks to the quick thinking of the group’s healer that Vex survived. But the injury would haunt him, leaving him to confront the self-doubt that followed his loss. For a year, Vex retreated to the backlines, struggling with his new limitations and losing himself in self-pity. However, he turned that despair into determination. Through intense study and magical training, Vex learned to conjure a magical arm, an act that required immense concentration but allowed him to wield a bow again and to fight in battle. His newfound abilities not only gave him back his weapon but allowed him to imbue his arrows with arcane power, turning his weakness into a strength.
Though he had learned to fight again, the psychological scars of his injury and the subsequent doubts about his worth remained. Vex became more reserved, the quiet, calculating counterpart to his sister’s more direct approach. He harbored a deep sense of pragmatism—believing that survival often meant making difficult choices. Over time, Vex grew into a deeply reflective individual, careful in his decisions, even if they meant losing personal attachments for the greater good.
