Steppes of Centos
The Steppes of Centos are not true steppes in the classic sense, but they share much of the same geography. They are a mixture of rocky terrain in the northern end closer to the Burrowfast Foothills with grasslands toward the south and west end. On the east end, where they border the PuKtan Desert they are dry and somewhat barren, with some short, scrub like vegetation.
Within the Steppes are roving bands of Barbarian tribes, most notably Human and Goliath tribes. In addition, they support some Halflings, some Goblins, and a most rare and notable gathering of Giant Eagles called the Whitefeather Convocation.
The denizens of the Steppes of Centos are mostly wanderers that struggle to eke out a living, defending themselves from other raiders or contesting tribes. The Giant Eagles lay claim to the high parts, but there are not many of them. Goblins along the eastern border have left their desert home to make their living among the rocky and dry grasslands to their west. Most of the people that call the Steppes home govern in the same way. The strong survive, the most versatile and canny tribes will succeed, and there is not much that is out of bounds.
There are a few exceptions that exist, and some tribes are honourable and just. The Eagles for the most part are honourable but not necessarily good. They feel superior to most races in the Steppes and literally and figuratively look down on those below them. They do not seek to do harm, but they will take what is theirs and defend what they feel rightfully belongs to them. They have formed a convocation and their main home is on top of the Tor Top Watchtower, an ancient guard post that is now mostly in ruins.
