Liadonic Magocracy

Governing the island-continent of Liadon the Liadonic Magocracy is an Elven state that has sought racial unity upon their island. While Elf subspecies of are welcome and Half-Elves are tolerated or accepted dependent on the views of the prevailing politics of the time other species were denied access to the island and faced execution on discovery. The Magocracy governed from the Great City of Ishalond with a government by seniority in which those of magical ability were most respected and praised. The Magocracy favoured long considered debate over impulsive action and no single ruler existed over the Elves who would vote and act following debate in which all citizens were welcome. In times of crisis a Consul of the Chosen People was elected from among the citizens to lead with unrivalled power until they relinquished power or passed away. The only exception to this rule was the isle of Shadowfell whose magical anomaly allowed its nominal independence and governance by the Raven Queen.
