The Exalted Highlands
Geography
The Exalted Highlands are any mountainous region or elevated mountainous plateau. Generally speaking, upland (or uplands) refers to ranges of hills, typically up to 500–600 m. The lands a lush and full of flora and wildlife. Even the high mountain tops that exists have grass and various plants and grass growing all up and down the mountain. There are two massive forest exists within the highlands. The northern most forest hides the entrance through mountains that leads to the largest landmark within the highlands, The World Tree. A massive sentient tree that is rumored to have massive roots leading all throughout the country and possibly Agodale.
Fauna & Flora
Shrubs such as bearberry, crowberry, and blaeberry (bilberry) grow on peaty soil, as does bog cotton. Alpine and Arctic species flourish on the highest slopes and plateaus of the Grampians, including saxifrages, creeping azalea, and dwarf willows.
For animals you can find Otters on the coast,sea eagles, Pine marten,deer/stag,red squirrels,wild cats, horses,oxen, and many other types of mammals.
Natural Resources
With the connections many highlanders have with the land many have vast fields of growing crops of various use. The highlands is host to the most diverse plant life in all of Agodale. From crops used for general consumption to unique flora used for alchemical means. The highlanders are also some of the most skilled conjuration magic users in Agodale. One of the most unique assets the highlands is home to is the world tree. It is a massive sentient tree that speaks to highlanders sharing wisdom and knowledge with those it feels have earned it. Many believe the world trees roots run under all of Agodale not just the highlands. Giving it immense amounts of knowledge.
History
The highlands are the least developed country in terms of how much land is civilized. A few town/cities exist within the highlands but the vast majority of them land has been left the way nature made them. Much of this comes from the people who live here and the connection they have with the land. The people and animals who live off they land only take what they need to live and do not destroy anything, in return the land provides for them more so than any other region.
Tourism
While tourism is encouraged within the cities/towns many natives are hesitant of outsiders freely roaming the land fearing they may harm or disrespect the land in some way ruining the relationship the natives have with the land they live on.
