Isomor
Isomor, while not technically the capital of Vesmos, is the true seat of power. Boasting a massive shipyard, this is the main port for all incoming and outgoing trade for Aheila. As such, it is an extremely diverse city, even by Vesomite standards. Travelers from all over the world come to trade and resupply, bringing exotic goods with them. The Market Square and Traveling Market boast rare fruits, lavish textiles, and foods from around the world. It is a city where money never sleeps and the wonders never cease. It is also here that the Merchant Guilds' power is greatest. There is not a tradesman in the city, not a merchant on the street, that does pay fealty to one of the guilds. The seven Merchant Princes, as they are called, grip this city with an iron fist, knowing that their influence here is what guarantees their influence in the rest of the country.
Bordered by water on two sides, the rest of Isomor is surrounded by a massive, stone wall. There is but a single gate leading out to the northwest, though it is primarily used by the Woodsmiths' Guild to bring in lumber. For travelers, the best way inland is by riverboat, up the winding Hess River. It is not uncommon for adventurers and travelers to hitch a ride with the merchant boats headed to deliver goods to the rest of Aheila. The few that venture inland on foot or by horse find themselves on the perilous trek through the Wandering Woods.
