Fort Gilder

Located in the south east of Knaeva, once being an old fortress constructed among The Citadel of Knaeva, Fort Galandris and Fort Stouthardt that once made up the land of elves in ancient Knaeva, Fort Gilder, until The Bloodhunter Purge, was home to the Bloodhunters of the Nightstalker, similar to Fort Stouthardt once being home to the Bloodhunters of the Werewolf. Now Fort Gilder, much like many other forts that haven't been restored by the people of modern Knaeva, lies in ruins, with none quite having the confidence to take up the fort given its proximity to Oshal's border and the many horror stories associated with Bloodhunters in general.

Purpose / Function

During its time under the elves, it is theorised that Fort Gilder was used as a southern watch outpost along Oshal's border, back when it was The Old Oshal Empire, with it having a large, central tower in its centre, being built atop a cliff which overlook the sands of the endless desert, similar to the northern Fort Galandris.   During its time under the Bloodhunters of the Nightstalkers, it was used as a head quarters, where more Bloodhunters would be made via the ritual, being occupied a few centuries after it was abandoned by the elves. It was also a good place for them to stop to rest during the winter months, given how warm the area was in winter due to its southern location. There was always the threat of the yuan-ti, but the Bloodhunters saw them more so as a constant, reliable paycheck, rather than a true threat. The fear factor of the yuan-ti also scared many potential enemies from the fort, which ended up keeping it far safer than it otherwise would have been.
