Session 5

In-Person Session Date: February 1, 2020

General Summary

After a quick rest, the Four Horsemen decide to head west into the passage covered by web. Making their way through the narrow entry way, the corridor opens in a large chamber coating in thick, white webs. They have discovered the lair of Oblesh, the Spider Mother, and she is none too pleased. The room is imbued with magic emanating from a medusa statue in the center, and the adventurers fend off attacks while making their way to destroy the central monolith. They destroy the statue and the spiders and get a chance to further explore the room. John Spartan ends up dipping his hand into the mystical pool that appears where the statue once stood, and it turns his arm completely to stone, although the change seems more cosmetic than functional. He finds a sealed cavity containing a powerful, glowing sword that can only be wielded by the stone hand. The group also leaves with a new uniform, consisting a package of magic cloaks that Ayrimlis discovered on a dead kobold messenger. They are dark purple with a unique insignia.
  The group retreats out of the passage and contemplate leaving the cave to rest before exploring the wooden door, when a rush of pirates enter the cave and begin pursuit. In haste, the group is forced through the wooden door, where they come upon a ritual chamber of some sort, filled with treasure and the corpses of self-mutilated kobolds. One that is still alive finishes the ritualistic suicide, and the floor beneath them snaps, an offering to the blue water god that these kobolds worship, jettisoning the group and the gold to the torrents, and certain death, below.
  But the group do not die, instead they find themselves in a mysterious temple containing a massive serpent dragon who does not seem interested in speaking to them, outside of a riddle. The group begin exploring the rooms of the temple, first wandering into a room covered with vines and torches. They are able to solve the puzzle of the first room, and barely escape with their lives.
