Thuldor
Demographics
90% Dwarf, 5% Goliath, 1% Genasi (100% Air), 4% Other.
Government
The village is ruled by the head of the monastery, Eldeth, the Venerable. The village follows the common law of the continent, with the addition that unautorised entry to the monastery is strictly forbidden. In times where laws are broken, Eldeth oversees the trial as the village's lawmaster.
Defences
The Walls. Surrounding the village is a 20ft. tall, 10ft. thick stone wall complete with a number of towers. The palisades are covered by a red slate roof to help keep the harsh weather off those who patrol it. A similar wall bisects the settlements, separating the village from the monastery.
The Monks of Gaia. The monastery houses approximately 100 fully trained monks, which act as the guards for the city. They mostly patrol the outer walls, however they can occasionally be seen within the village itself. They also operate the gates into the village and monastery.
Artillery. A series of thirteen ballistae are located along the perimeter walls, with one located at the top of each of the towers. These were installed after the first attack of Aussirkoth, the Rime Demon.
Infrastructure
The Brazen Bothy. The Bothy, as it is known to the locals, is Thuldor's only tavern and inn. It is famous amongst those who travel The Morndin Pass regularly and is a particular favourite with the Pass Wardens. Rooms are not cheap, however the owner, an air genasi named Ariel, is known for making the best stew in the ridge with the aid of her husband, the dwarven hunter Dworic Eversharp.
Guilds and Factions
The Silver Hand. The thieves' guild has operatives who live in the village who maintain a safe house for members who cross the mountains.
History
Name Meaning - Those Who Endure
Thuldor was originally a dwarven monastery devoted to 'The Lords of Gaia', the metaphorical embodiment of the world through the union of the gods Kord, Melora, Pelor and Sehanine. It has been established for hundreds of years, predating The Confluence. Originally, it was commonplace for monks to be born, live and die within the walls of the monastery, however in recent years, since the appointment of Eldeth, the Venerable, monk have been encouraged to venture further out into the world.
In more recent history, with the fall of Tordelvar and the development of The Morndin Pass, the monastery opened its doors to passing travellers more and more and over the course of time, grew in size as many settled there.
These days, the monastery lies at the back of a small dwarven settlement, inhabited mostly by the wardens of the pass, their families and people seeking the peace the quiet mountain village can bring. Whilst mostly closed to the world, the monks of the monastery act as the villages guards and protect those whole live inside.

Geography
The village sits towards the peak of a large mountain, on its eastern side. Boarding it to the north and south are two large chasms, the result of Aussirkorth, the Rime Demon first attack. The northern chasm rendered the north entrance to the village unusable, so travel into Thuldor is now only possible by ascending the side near the southern chasm.
