Cymo, The Way of Mutual Bruising, 互痍

Canem, a harrowing land filled with danger and ruled by the feminine elite. It is from this territory that is spawned a brutal martial art developed by the male under class. Bred for size, fertility, and ability to give and take punishment, Canem men were the perfect indentured class. A picture of these attributes, the Cymo, defected from their home country desiring to avoid the oppression of the ruling female class. For years their tribe wandered the lands mixing their genetic heritage with local populations (even still, unusual children are born in the plains, in Yusuf, and elsewhere - evidence of the Cymo’s travels). Around XX the Cymo found a final resting spot - free, they thought, from the conflicts that seemed to follow them about the land.

What the Cymo did not understand is that they were walking into yet another conflict. The Great Shaolin Temple had barley resisted a rebellious uprising from the Bak Mei faction and the nation would be split into 3 provinces. The struggling Yan-Do Province decided to divest the power from a unified source and, instead, have 5 merchant families equally share governance as a council to a Daimyo, following the old traditions. Naturally, each merchant family quickly sought out a militia to help them assert their importance to the new Daimyo and to keep other merchant families in check. Thus, the Cymo were sought out by the Bi Mao family (the Cymo had settled in their territory and the Bi Mao were still trying to decide what to do about it). Promised land and autonomy the Cymo agreed to train and defend the Bi Mao and a blood pact (unending agreement for mutual prosperity) was made.

While disappointed that violence has once again taken hold of the Shao Province while the Merchant Family power ebbs, the Cymo stand by their pact. The Cymo make no judgments on the worth of their ‘blood’ bonded brothers. Instead, to the best of their abilities, they maintain a delicate peace for the Bi Mao – one that is often paid for by the blood of their youth. To their benefit, though, few risk combat with such extraordinary physical specimens.

Called Sumo by indigenous peoples (Cy too hard to pronounce).
