The Threads of Fate

Golden threads of otherworldly origin, it is said each person's core being, their essence, is interwoven with a thread. While the amount of people who have ever seen these threads in person can be counted with two hands, the idea behind them is rooted in the creation myths of the Theotians.
Yis, Cassilda, and Omorful'henzio Khakranzee are the managers of fate as decreed by The Primordial Wyrm. The one who leads lost essences to be rewoven into the Threads is Gambler. Everything that exists within the Velveteen Petals system is assumed to have a thread. From simple objects like scissors, to complex beings like demi-gods, each thread ties to every other in an impossibly complex tangle of interactions that is read by the Theotians to protect the solar system's balance.
Of course, this is knowledge and myth passed down from legend. Hardly any of it has any solid basis, and many are quick to to decry the idea that their path is already laid out for them. From people who have experienced death and resurrection, the hazy memories they retain attest to something along these lines.
