Council of Man

Nochka Puhrum

The Council of Man was originally made up of the twenty oldest Canite men and women of the settlement of Noch. While it is believed to have existed in some sort since the beginning of the settlement, it comes into its own as a true leadership around 3400 pre-sc.

The Council's duty was to provide spiritual advice and guidance, as well as see to the daily needs of the growing population of the village. The dense population and growing boundaries of the village, at the time more than a thousand structures large, prevented most from finding food bearing plants. The Council organized parties to journey out to generate and gather food enough for the population.

It was the Council's duty to also oversee the fertility rituals to ensure pregnancy. They did this by using their natural Daemon ability to generate food from plants. These elders learning to manipulate this power for use on the womb at aid in conception. An ability not without risk as it resulted in mutated children as often as it did healthy babies at birth.

Obscure religous texts claim at some point, best guessed to be around a century after it is formed, nine Aggel took up positions in the Council. An action embraced by the Nod Noch, who see these celestial beings as wiser and more divine than daemon. Within a generation the entire Council is made up of only aggels, and nine original becoming the Nod Noch Nine and starting the Aggelomachy.
