the Rebel Queendom

The queendom of Hathor is a young, but ancient nation. Until 6818sc the region was part of the greater nation of Hydossia. Prior to being part of Hydossia it was the province of Hathor in Ancient Siduum. This province survived the Umaybbad Orc invasions of that nation, becoming independent, until it joined its neighbors across the Sea of the Ten Sisters in forming Hydossia.

Modern Hathor became a queendom under Chinmayi, younger sister of Queen Rabasa of Hydossia. Chinmayi declared the Hathor region as her own, breaking away from Hydossia a year after Rabasa was crown. There has been no explanation given to the people why the two split. There is also no evidence of bad blood between the queens. Rabasa has never tried to reclaim the land in her six decades of rule. With the exception of occational tavern brawls over who is the better queen or culture, the people live as they always have, as if the nation was still one.

Hathor differs from Hydossia in several ways. First, its land is less barren. While the soil is poor for farming, its vast grassy lowlands are ideal for livestock ranching. Where Hydossia's population centers in cities, the Hydossa of Hathor are spread across their lands. Small towns of no more than one or two hundred people are scattered through the land, usually centered around a wealthy ranching estate. Hathor does not trade with outside nations. Rather, they beef and resources are shipped to Hydossia, which deals with all trade outside their insolated nations.

The Queen's Ring, sometimes called the 'Star of Hathor', or 'Chinmayi's Crown,' is the symbol of the queendom of Hathor. Queen Chinmayi designed the symbol of her nation at its inception. Like their sister nation of Hydossia, the Ring takes aspecs of Ancient Siduum art styles. The Lady in the symbol is Chinmayi herself, standing at the heart of her nation and people.
