Mountains of Poe
Mountains of the Heavens Above
The Mountains of Poe is a wide mountain range of Anbar, on the major continent of Ethae. The range stands west of the Craddle Valley, and east of their sister range the Mountains of Poho. In antiquity the two ranges were considered a single mountain range under the name Poho. In the modern world, since at least the Valmon Age, the range was divided between the two. The long Valley of Ghawr is the dividing point of the ranges.
According to Ancient Siduum legends, the mountains of Poho and Poe were once covered in a single great glacier that cover their peaks. In these tales the monstrous dragon Gilgurth came from the sky, breathing fire, melting the glacier. It was this melting that created the great salt sea of Yaren Juhl. A story modern scholars sum up as an interpretation of the Gilgurth impact and its effects on the world around the ancients.
