Yamakyn (YAH mah kin)

the Coral Kingdom

Founded during the wars with the Juhl'are, the Dwarf nation of Yamakyn was established by the Kephic Empire as a western fortress against their foe. The lack of abundant ores and the location being so near the Dragon of Gir Kur had left the Fafnir peninsula largely ignored by the dwarf in the past. Its early days were a drain on the Empire, though the need to open another front in the war was deemed needed after the fall of the Dwarves of Poe. By wars end the Dwarves of Yama had become a self-sustaining power that in the centuries after would come to control the entirety of the peninsula. By the end of the Kephic Age, Yamakyn had reached it pinnacle of power and controlled the region and surrounding seas undisputed.

Through the Novyum Age Yamakyn has declined somewhat. This is due, in part, to the reduced influence of the Kephic Empire over the ages. Low birth rates, shifting political powers, and endless wars with the Orc of Kal Kissuti have forced the dwarves to consolidate their power, and influence. Yamakyn now only controls a third of the regions once under their sway. That said, it is still a stronghold for the dwarven people. Their reduced land holding has also done nothing to minimize their naval power. Yamakyn has controlled of the Gulf of Ad Allir since the nations inception and remains an influential naval power in the Sea of the Ten Sisters.
