Duke Lucavis Hammerlock

The former patriarch of the Hammerlock clan until his recent death, apparently of natural causes. He was a self-styled scholar whose focus on governance tended toward the abstract and theoretical over the practical and concrete. Physically, he was a tall, gaunt man who was physically weak but extremely clever.
He was known by some, including his son Thaddeus⁣⁣⁣⁣ and Eric Whitecrest, to have been interested in striking deals with supernatural entities in exchange for security. Who those entities were and the precise nature of whatever deal he struck remains unknown to all save Eric, his old adventuring comrade.
A few years before his death, he was promoted from Baron to Duke in a gala coinciding with the announcement of his son Gavin's betrothal to Princess Dawn Erindora⁣⁣⁣⁣. Though that betrothal was later annulled, he remained Duke Lucavis Hammerlock until his dying day.
