She wears a loose blouse under a tight fitted maroon colored vest, preferring pantaloons rather than skirt. Her boots are thigh high and black.

Specialized Equipment

  • Raijin & Fujin—A matched set of enchanted daggers Mara found on Kame-Kame Island. Mara can recall them to her hand when she throws them, and they grant her the magical power of flight.
  • Lightning-Tongue Whip—Xant gifted this magical whip to Mara and spent some time training her in its use.
  • Glamored Leather Armor—Mara is able to alter the appearance of this armor to whatever outfit she chooses.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Mara was born in Marblecleft Landing but grew up on the Merry Natali, the pirate ship captained by her grandfather Anton. She was separated from her grandfather and her crew when they drifted into the poisonous black fog surrounding the Elderhaven Reaches. Her lifeboat took her back to Freydin, where she wandered until she reached Ferindel and joined the Undercity Sisterhood, a mercenary ring of thieves and saboteurs.   When the Antiheroes came to Ferindel to oppose the Eyes of the World, their contact Siaal recommended the Undercity Sisterhood to them as someone who could help in their task of discovering what became of Helja Ironshield. The Undercity Sisterhood gave the job to Mara, who traveled with the Antiheroes through Helja's tower in their first adventure together.   When the Sisterhood asked her to spy on the Hammerlock household, she had to choose between her loyalty to the group and the new friends she'd made, and ended up going with the party on their adventures beyond Ferindel.

Mara is driven by two desires: to free her grandfather from the curse that separated them many years ago, and to fleece as many rich idiots as she can get away with.

Mara bonded with a cranium rat that escaped from Sigil in Mike Jensen's pocket. She kept it fed and named it Pinky. The rat remained loyal to her even to the day she visited Sigil herself, where Pinky was able to reconnect with the rest of its swarm. Now the whole hivemind swarm is her loyal pet.
