Elderhaven Reaches

The Elderhaven Reaches is one of the major countries in the world of Alen'dal. For many years is was shrouded by a deadly black fog put in place by the four guardian spirits Genbu, Byakko, Suzaku, and Seiryu. These four spirits cast a spell that created the fog in order to both protect the outside world from Orochi and protect the Elderhaven Reaches from the monsters that were beginning to dominate the young races of the world.   After the Antiheroes pursued the archmage Orin Greyward to the Elderhaven Reaches and defeated Orochi, the great spirits lowered the fog, allowing the country to rejoin the world. The tyrannical rule and unethical warforged experimentation of Orin and the Eyes of the World left deep scars on a country that already lacked unity, but recent efforts by Xant are slowly bringing the country together.   With spirits from the Elderhaven Reaches free to wander the world and warforged created from the souls of the Havenites spread across Alen'dal, the country is sure to play a part in shaping the future of the world.

Demographics

A large population of Havenites are humans, but recently communities of warforged and other races have begun to spring up throughout the land.

Government

The Elderhaven Reaches does not have a unified government. Instead, each of the major islands in the country has its own established rulership. In the ancient past an empire did govern the entire archipelago, but it has long since vanished to the sands of time.

Industry & Trade

The Elderhaven Reaches has been self-sustaining for a very long time, and is only recently starting to open up connections with the outside world. The connection between Xant and King Thaddeus of the Kingdom of Freydin has gone a long way toward speeding up this process.

Geography

The Elderhaven Reaches is an archipelago comprised of numerous islands. The main islands are Kitou, Kanya, Hazuki, Hanagasumi, Enyou, and Natsukage. Each of these islands is frozen perpetually in one of the four seasons as a result of its connection to the four great spirits. For example, it is eternally winter in Kitou and Kanya, but Hanagasumi enjoys an everlasting spring.
