'I am Momma, I will never be Utrunk Matron again, there is nothing but shame there... But you were cute little baby.'
- Momma tells Thordak a small amount about his Utrunks heritage and her time with the barbarian crew.
The session started with Thordak navigating his way to
Lakefort alone in the middle of the night, during the navigation he arrived at
Moonbrook Wares and found a closure notice on the door that was worn with time and written by
Nirya Moonbrook expressing her gratitude for the towns kindness but also explaining she needed a temporary 'holiday' due to her grandson's disappearance. Thordak entered the house and went to his old room to get a new change of clothes and to rest for the night.
Meanwhile, the next morning, the party came to and Kodo prepared breakfast whilst Mimsi sat with him and confided her fear and confusion about events that took place. Kodo expressed his viewpoint, that Fen and Olympia had been unnecessarily cruel and callous to someone who wasn't a threat and that the party didn't achieve anything they set out to achieve in
A'mlon... however, he finished his point by telling Mimsi that he had no fear of
Persicorum dissolving as they had troubles, but all groups did at the end of the day. However, they desperately needed direction.
In response to this, Mimsi LOUDLY announced that they needed to have a group meeting. To which the rest of the party woke up and joined with the exception of Thordak, with that, the party decided their first course of action would be to find Thordak but the party also talked about the information they discovered and what transpired with
The Inquisitors. Once they were all caught up, the party agreed that they had to keep Fen away from
Xan Prayerkeep as they did not trust the sound of this Inquisitor. The conversation finished with the party hugging and deciding that, individually, they may be unreliable or weak just as an individual ingredient may not be delicious... but, as a part of a recipe, together they could make something amazing.
With that, Persicorum moved to
Lakefort and realised it was a politically unaligned town and so likely represented a temporary haven for the party from A'mlon. As they entered the town, they noticed a series of shops and stalls had been set up but decided ultimately to head to
Moonbrook Wares , knowing it was the home of both Thordak and his grandmother, they noticed the shop was locked with a sign of closure on the front. The party climbed the walls of the store to find Thordak and, after the party squeezed into his room to have another wholesome conversation, he put on his father's old Utrunk jacket and told the party he had a plan to potentially get some answers.
Olympia and Mimsi did some 'snooping' around the house and, though they didn't find anything incriminating, they did discover claw marks from a creature larger than a rat but not as feral as a wolf. Though the Moonbrooks didn't have a pet cat or other animal.
Eventually, the party left the house and decided to spend some time shopping whilst Thordak gave them a tour of the town, remarking that it had changed since he'd last visited over a year ago.
The party were mostly drawn to the stalls where Kodo shopped at
Hunters Pelts with Amrys (with Kodo buying fresh Venison and Amrys buying fresh baby red dragon). The rest of the party visited
J.D's Store of Curiousities and expressed HUGE interest in
Pets4u .
J.D was a strange and eccentric tiefling who charged them three gold to enter a cage with safety equipment on... this is where the party met
Mysterious , a creature that changed it's shape and properties according to what those around it believe it to have (being capable of mimicking the appearance of others and excreting an acidic solution as soon as it was mentioned). To reward them for their bravery, Mysterious gifted Mimsi and Thordak with red, dripping tokens that they claimed could be placed in a door held in space that would invite them to the 'greatest auction in the planes'.
Then the party decided to visit Pets4u and met the strange and skittish owner
LycoTyco. During this visit, the party made a series of purchases. Specifically:
- Kodo purchased a Fire Ferret after Pawcaw approved of the purchase, citing that the creature could be a great oven addition to their culinary work.
- Mimsi purchased a Broken Mimic that she named 'Phil, dill and lill' after realising that the mimic had accidentally split itself into 3 and was 'broken' as a result.
- Olympia purchased a Moon Lupin who was excitable, curious and keen to adventure with no real sense of danger or caution.
- Fen purchased a Reaper baby, larger than him, that seemed deeply aggressive and cut into Fen's face as soon as they were released (in an infernal conversation with them Amrys learned the creature was a deeply aggressive fiend-like being that agreed to take Fen as THEIR familiar but promised that, if he showed weakness, they'd kill him.
With animals purchased, the party set out for
The Isle of Erathis with the exception of Amrys who stayed behind to clean out the Moonbrook residence with the animals after expressing his wish to not talk to a god.
Persicorum rowed their way to the Isle of Erathis, with animals in tow, upon reaching the space they found that light blue glowbugs were the only living thing on the island and that they could spell messages on the door of the temple, an ancient and impressive structure. The temple asked Thordak if he was now ready to take on the challenges of Erathis and if his friends could be relied on.
Upon agreeing, Thordak watched as his friends were to stand in plinths
