Teroshe (Zaalan for
Sanctuary) is a collection of roughly 150 decrepit spaceships assembled, docked together and welded shut over the past century by the
Zaalan Free Tribes to serve as their base of operations. The first ship was the stolen vessel
HSS Nambaz which was flown into the uncharted depths of the Nyx system at the height of the Zaalan Rebellions on
Hakaria. At the time, this flight was one of the furthest ever attempted beyond the
Elpis System.
After the arrival of
Hyr Bogwyn in the
32nd Cycle, the local collection of vessels grew slowly. Conditions on board were squalid, leading to the instauration of a military council to oversee living conditions in the 37th cycle. Nevertheless, those Zaalans deeply committed to the cause of the Free Tribes put up with it.
The interior of Teroshe is simply that of dozens of ships docked and interlocked to each other. A Boshaari freighter might give way to a Mewei vessel, which in turns opens into a decommissioned Hiderid cruiser. Some ships are reserved for certain uses, for instance livestock or hydroponics. A few ships were later added to serve as makeshift attitude thrusters.
The number of docked ships grew hugely following the Hestian Rush : the milestone of 50 ships was reached in the
101st Cycle and 100 ships in the 121st. An estimated 10.000 people live on Teroshe, in cramped conditions that strain the makeshift station's life support systems. Nonetheless, to the
Zaalan, Teroshe serves as a symbol of rebellion against the
Hiderid Coalition of Stars.
In the
151st cycle, the Coalition blockaded the Lagrange point used by Teroshe after the outbreak of the Teroshe Plague. After
Hexo-Geni, Inc was exposed for using the makeshift station as a testing ground for viruses, the Hiderid took control of the station, officially to sanitize it, leading to a firefight in the station's cramped halls. Eventually the Coalition relented and fled Teroshe.
