The Elemental Wars

Era beginning/end

The long and enduring Elemental Wars between all four Elemental Lords: Ragnaros, The Fire Lord, Terros, The Earth Lord, Thunros, Storm Lord and finally, Nepturos, The Water Lord

The Elemental Lords were beings of immense power and ability, each one embodying a different aspect of nature. The world was their playground, and they ruled over it with absolute authority. Their battles were cataclysmic, with the very elements themselves at their disposal.   But amidst the chaos, one Elemental Lord stood out above the rest. The Water Elemental was a being of unparalleled cruelty and ambition, seeking to dominate all other lords and claim the world for itself. Its powers were vast, and its mastery of cold and ice was unmatched.   In battle, the Water Elemental was a terror to behold. It froze oceans, brought down mountains with avalanches, and blasted entire cities with icy winds. Its enemies were powerless against its onslaught, and soon, the world was covered in a thick layer of permafrost.   Despite the attempts of the other Elemental Lords to stop it, the Water Elemental's power only grew, and soon it had achieved dominance over the world. The once lush and verdant lands were now barren and frozen, and all life struggled to survive in the harsh new environment.   But even in the face of such overwhelming power, there were those who refused to give up. Brave heroes arose, wielding weapons of fire and light to combat the icy terror. The battles were long and grueling, exhausting what little was left of Argus' natives species as they slowly but surely became extinct, whether in war or due to the world's conditions becoming less and less livable.   As Elemental Lords, the five beings each had control over a different element and, by extension, various parts of the world. The Fire Elemental, for instance, held sway over volcanoes, deserts, and other hot, dry places. The Water Elemental had command over oceans, rivers, and other bodies of water. The Air Elemental ruled over the winds and the skies, while the Earth Elemental dominated mountains, forests, and other lands. The Ice Elemental, as the most powerful of the five, controlled the frigid regions of the world, including the polar ice caps and tundras.   Each of the Elemental Lords had their own followers, both mortal and elemental, who pledged allegiance to their respective masters. These followers often engaged in skirmishes and battles with one another, each seeking to expand their lord's power and influence. A great deal of tension and competition between the lords and the lands themselves could be felt by every living being as their world was slowly destroyed each passing day.
