Magicea Clavis

The Magicea Clavis represents two magical houses from the old continent. The new continent presents a massive opportunity for knowledge and magical influence, an opportunity that the Magicea Clavis simply cannot let pass. Those of The Key believe that all knowledge is worth having. Magicea Clavis is led by a council of three.
  The Magicea Clavis is a new world collaboration between what used to called Domicile Venefici and the magical house of Equitania.
 

Structure

The Magicea Clavis is ruled by an elder council of three mages. Experts in particular topics may be employed where the council member do not feel comfortable in decision making. The council is elected from the Spell Masters, or those who have risen to the top of their craft within each school of magic. Elections are only held on the passing of retirement of a council member, and only those citizens of Magicea Clavis that are of formal rank may cast a vote in this regard.

Culture

The people of The Key are open and friendly on the surface, but they tend to shy away from intimate relationships with outsiders. The tend to hoard information unless convinced that sharing is for the good of all (Which is a tough sell at times!). Knowledge is valued almost above all other wealth, and it is held on to with fervour. Knowledge is often used in bartering and a secret is often worth more than gold.   Locals have a reverence for the Spell Masters, who are unrivalled in their magic skill. This includes all schools of magic as well as potion, scroll and formal mastery.

Demography and Population

Magicea Clavis is a relatively small autonomous geographical area surrounding the Thayden River. The principal settlement is around William's Rest which is built on a large lake. A scattering of villages run along the river all the way to the coast.   Major Cities: 1   Minor Settlements: 4   Estimated Population: 14 000

Trade & Transport

This relatively small nation is known for trade in the following:  
  • Honey
  • Tobacco
  • Formal Components and other magical resources
  • Rice
  • Paper
  These goods are all transported down the Trayden River and sent to Heroes Rest as well as other ports along the coast such as Theria and New Hope.
