Herod - The Swirling Mass

"Your minds remain closed. Come, mortals... glimpse the infinite truths."
The Fallen Ancient Herod, holds the aspect of water, the deep, and oceanic monsters. Currently, there are no surviving depictions of Herod before the Cataclysm, as the horrendous form he is depicted as having as a Fallen is likely far from the original. Often shown to be a writhing, hulking mass of dark tentacles and glowing eyes, many scholars believe that Herod may be the largest of all the Ancients, Prime or Fallen. Given his vast domain of water, he may also possess one of the largest amount of followers out of the known Fallen Ancients, as many evil lifeforms in the Undersea Tribes likely worship him.   At some point during the First Age, the Lightsworn Archon Magnus once saved Herod after he was captured by The Elder Ones from The Beyond. Many theorize that this event may have led to Herod becoming a Fallen, having been driven mad by his captors.   Herod may also be one of the few Fallen Ancients that kept his original aspect of creation, choosing to reflect on its darker aspects. After the Cataclysm, it seems it is unknown where exactly Herod himself fell. Many scholars believe he now lies in the infinite abyss of the realm The Deep, while others fearfully suspect he fell into Arkos' deepest ocean, slumbering far below the surface while mortalkind remains blissfully unaware...
