Uriel - The Avenger
"We have risen to take hold of the great Selune's charge in her absence. And we do not require your permission." - Uriel addressing the other Prime Ancients during the Seat of the Pantheon meeting in 1001 3A.Uriel briefly served as the Ancient of Retribution and the Sunrise. While he was not an Ancient biologically, his power came to rival that of some of the other Prime Ancients. After Selune was stripped of her aspect by Nex during The Kindling, both Uriel and Geulah were chosen by the denizens of Serenia to take up her mantle in her absence. At least, this is the story that the two corroborated. It is possible that both Uriel and Geulah saw an opportunity to claim the mantle of ancient as the power vaccum was created. Even if their intentions were noble. Despite both Uriel and Geulah co-adopting the role of Prime Ancient, and a large number of mortals already flocking to their call, Uriel was quite in-experienced during his time ruling Serenia. Once he learned that his once faithful comrade, Janus, was planning to invade Serenia, he gave his power aspect to Deacon of the Sanctioned, in the hopes that he could use it to restore Selune to her position of Ancient. When Janus invaded Serenia in his newly acquired Lightbringer state, Uriel led a valiant defense against him, calling upon his experience as an Archon. Janus had grown too powerful in his avatar state, however, and utterly destroyed Uriel, leaving only his helm and parts of his gleaming armor behind. While Uriel is gone, what he ultimately stood for and his tenets will not soon be forgotten by many.
