The Redmond House

The Redmond House was the family home of the Redmond family, of whom Alexis Redmond was the eldest daughter. Along with her mother, father, and younger sister, she lived in the small, modest home until shortly after her thirteenth birthday. The house was located in North Carolina in the town of Maple Hill, not far south of the capitol of the United States, Washington DC. Unfortunately, when the alien beings known as the Ash Gods came to Earth on X-Day, the Redmond House was right in the path of the early stage of the firestorms which swept across the world from the aliens' vessels. Alexis was not home on X-Day, but the rest of her family was. Mr. and Mrs. Redmond, along with their youngest daughter, were incinerated in firestorms, and their house was burned to the ground, with virtually nothing but its cracked foundation and blistered walls remaining. Despite this, Alexis, who survived X-Day and lived on for another fourteen years in the unforgiving hellscape of Ashrain, considers the house to be the one place where she could escape from the nightmarish reality. As such, after fourteen years of strife and tribulation on the other side of the North American continent, and with nothing else to live for, she sets off across the ash wastes of the Midwest on a mission to find her former family home and there commemorate her dead parents and sibling properly, as her last act before she will allow the wilds and the dangers of Ashrain to claim her life.
