A Night on the Town

General Summary

Concluding their business with Saestril, the party left Fourthbend's in search of Ronaldo Belloc at the Bellandroix Casino. As they left the bar Erevan noticed a wanted poster on the wall with Lethe's likeness, prompting John Foote to loan Lethe a ring that could mask his appearance before heading back to the Amity. The group began heading south into the Ruby Quarter. On the road, Ciana was pickpocketed by a small street urchin who escaped after a brief chase. After giving up the pursuit, the party continued south.   At the Bellandroix Casino the party entered a brief and fruitless negotiation with Belloc and left soon after meeting him. Outside the casino, they passed by a Sedranist preacher ranting about the divinity of Ehrir. Electing to attempt to speak to Percival Fould, the group passed into the Diamond Quarter. When crossing King's Way, they noticed a group of protestors gathered around a statue under construction. Lethe approached the young dreadlocked human leading the group and convinced them to hold a protest in front of the Royal Plaza during King Jorah's upcoming birthday ball. He also gave him a Tincture of Bloodlust, convincing him to drink it during the protest.   The party continued on to the Eliosan Plaza where they found a small shack, very purposely built so that it was hidden from sight if one were to follow the footpaths. They knocked on the door and Percival Fould emerged from inside. Precision immediately began flirting with him and presented him with a bottle of Odelion 1798, and the group was invited into his home. Inside, they found that his home was much more spacious than the outside would appear, and also noticed his raven familiar. Percival took an immediate liking to Pancake and fed him some spare meat he had lying around. Over the course of several drinks Percival drunkenly revealed several of the defenses put in place around the library: a system of Alarm spells all tied to a crystal orb in his house, a gate with no door that can only be answered by solving a riddle that changes daily, a vine-covered wall that leads up to the roof of the Arcaneum, and a doorway on the roof that leads back down into the main atrium stairway. The party traveled up to the roof and had a few more drinks before Percival became too intoxicated and jumped off the roof, utilizing the Feather Fall spell to glide to safety. Bidding the group goodnight, Percival went to bed. The party then headed to the Pheasant Room in the Diamond Quarter for lodging.   Later that night, Ciana experienced another vision in her sleep. She appeared in an alabaster sacristy, with a long tunnel behind her and a statue of an elf in front of her. A glowing cloaked figure appeared before her, calling himself the Guardian and telling her that he believed that she was destined to "right the wrong done to the world." In the distance Ciana could hear the sounds of a raging battle, and as the Guardian told her to trust in her friends the sounds grew closer before an army of demons charged through the hallway. Hastily barring the doors, Ciana turned around to find the Guardian had disappeared and in his place stood Erevan, Lethe, and Precision. The doors were shattered and the army charged through, but together the four managed to defeat them. After the battle the others disappeared leaving Ciana alone with the Guardian who told her that she was not yet ready for "the truth." Ciana woke up in the Pheasant Chamber, seeing Precision sleeping nearby.
